Quick loot and loot messages (Aelindor 1.01)
2026-10-03
Quick loot. Looting a monster no longer means dragging every item out of the corpse. Simply use (right-click) a monster corpse and everything in it is moved into your backpack at once. A message tells you what you got, for example "Looted 57 gold coins and a mace."
Switching it on and off. Right-click your own character and choose Toggle Quick Loot. A message tells you whether it is now on or off. Quick loot is switched on for everyone; if you prefer the classic way, switch it off and corpses open as before.
Where your loot goes. Each item is placed by these rules, in this order:
- Gold and other stackable items first fill up piles you already carry that are not full yet (for example 30 gold coins become 87).
- Otherwise the item goes into the first container that already holds the same kind of item. If you have none, it goes into your main backpack.
- If that container is full, it goes into the first container inside it, and so on further down.
- If all of those are full, the first container in your backpack that still has room is used.
Only the items are looted: the corpse's bag and any other containers stay behind. Items that are too heavy for your capacity, or that do not fit anywhere, stay in the corpse; you get a message ("You don't have capacity." or "You don't have room in your containers.") and the corpse opens so you can take what is left by hand.
Ignore list. Don't want to carry everything? Right-click an item (in a corpse or in your backpack) and choose Toggle Loot Ignore. From then on quick loot leaves that kind of item in corpses. Do the same again to take it again. Your ignore list and the on/off setting are saved with your character.
Opening a corpse without looting. Want to look first? Right-click the corpse and choose Open without looting. It opens the classic way and nothing is moved.
Fair play. Quick loot only works on monster corpses, never on the corpses of players. It does exactly what you could do by hand: you must stand next to the corpse, and the normal weight and container rules apply.
Loot messages. When you kill a monster you now see what it dropped, like in today's Tibia, for example "Loot of a rat: 2 gold coins, 3 worms." If you are in a party, every party member sees the loot message.
Client update: the new menu entries come with Aelindor 1.01. Just log in as usual: your client downloads the new version, closes and starts again by itself, and then you log in once more. New players can get it from the Download page.
