The bank is open: deposit, withdraw and transfer gold

From the server save on Saturday 17 October, every character has its own bank account. The NPCs who change money now look after your account too, so you no longer have to carry all your gold around.

What you can say
Say hi to the banker, then:
- balance – how much gold is in your account
- deposit 500 or deposit all – put the gold you carry into your account
- withdraw 500 or withdraw all – take gold out of your account
- transfer 500 – send gold to another character; the banker then asks for the name
The banker always asks you to confirm with yes first. You can still change gold, platinum and crystal coins as before.
Pay straight from your account
When you buy something and don't carry enough gold, the rest is taken from your bank account. This works everywhere you pay an NPC: shops, boats and carpets, spells, blessings, promotion, letters and parcels, and also for !buyhouse. The gold you carry is always used first, and a message tells you how much came from your account.
House rent is taken from your depot first. If there isn't enough there, the rest comes from your bank account.
Good to know
- The account belongs to the character, not to your whole account. Use transfer to move gold between your own characters.
- Gold in the bank is safe: you can't lose it when you die.
- Withdrawn gold comes as coins, so you need the capacity to carry them. If you can't, the banker keeps it for you.
- You can't transfer gold to characters in Rookgaard.
- When you sell things to NPCs, the gold still goes into your backpack.
- Gambling with Zebron or Olrik only uses the gold you carry, never your account.
Also new: runes from the battle window
You can now use attack and healing runes on other players straight from the battle window. Protection zones, secure mode and range still apply as usual.
Client update: this needs Aelindor 1.05. Just log in as usual: your client downloads the new version, closes and starts again by itself, and then you log in once more. New players can get it from the Download page.
